Normally we carry no more than 9 people per class, if more than that we worry about our quality !. Our class runs for 3-5 days, the first 3 to learn the routines and 2 more days for practice.
You may begin on any day, depending on how many have already enrolled (we must limit to 9 persons), and you may just walk in anytime or book by email to us at : tanavid@loxinfo.co.th . As early as possible, please, as we are often full. NO deposit is needed until you arrive in Chiangmai and come to sign up (if possible, a day or two before class begins, as we will give you the textbook to look at ahead of time.)
Our instruction is about 50% the same as Traditional Thai Massage. Nerve Touch (Jap Sen) works more with deep tissue, arranging lines and muscles, and is somewhat more therapeutic in aim, and we also teach the preparation and use of the medicinal herb packs pressed on the body during the massage.
Lek Chaiya and her highly qualified English speaking assistant share the teaching, which mostly is direct hands-on experience, in which you practice on each other and on the teachers.
No, anyone may learn. As a beginner, you will learn the entire basic massage and be able to give massage to your friends (who will enjoy it very much!), and continue practicing and developing your skills. We also teach experienced and professional body workers, doctors, nurses, chiropractors, and many of our students return for advanced coaching and practice.
All the herbs we use for Nerve-Touch Massage are common and easy to find. We also teach you how to substitute for those herbs you can't find, and the herbs are also available from our website as well.
