In ancient times, people had no machines to help them with their work
and no chemical medicines or doctors to help them with their physical problems.
They had to help themselves and each other.

The beginning of massage was the natural reaction to pain: one would press on
the point in an attempt to relieve the pain. Massage was developed as people discovered
its effectiveness in relaxation, in easing pain and soreness,
and as an aid in the healing and prevention of illness.

Many of the ancestors of the Thai originated in the south of China,
but were gradually forced to move because of the pressures of war, hunger, and disease.

As we moved through different areas and encountered different cultures,
we absorbed and added many new ideas and influences into our culture,
including our massage.  Thai massage has elements from the Chinese healing arts
(Acupressure, Chi), technique from Burma, and from India comes the influence of Yoga and Ayruveda.  Today Thai massage is highly developed
and is internationally famous as a means of relaxation
and for its effectiveness in generating health and well-being.
We work on tendons, ligaments, muscle
and nerves to balance the functions of the body.
